Bird Visit History
This graph shows when the IR detector at the hole was triggered either by a bird entering or leaving the box or poking its head in or out. Sometimes it's a curious bee, wasp, fly or spider. The size of each dot represents the duration the detector was blocked.
Sunrise and sunset times are shown as a red and orange lines respectively. (The steps are due to british summer time)
The graph is updated on the hour.
Bird Visits per Day
This graph shows the number of visits per day. The detector can only say that something has passed through the hole, be it bird or insect. It cannot detect the direction so both entries and exits are counted. A visit to the nest will count as two detections. The peaks shown either side of 15 days are due to the prospective tenant trying to reshape the entrance hole and continually poking it's head in and out of the hole. This is normal behaviour but opinions are devided as to the reason.
The graph is updated on the hour.
The last point plotted will increase throughout the day when the nest is active.
Box and Weather Data
This data is gathered from the bird box and a weather station and show yesterday's results.Red plots are derived from the birdbox sensors, and blue and green plots are derived from the weather station.
A few points worth noting:
I have the IR light on continuously at the moment which means the "Inside Light" graph will be a relatively straight line. I will be turning it off during the day once the outside light is sufficient.
The weight sensor is affected by, well, something, or most likely a few somethings. I have yet to track it down. It could be a combination of temperature, humidity, power supply, phases of the moon... When I do find out I can compensate for it in the software.
"Nest Delta Temp" is the difference between the nest and outside temperatures.
